Arteta refutes claims pressure of top-four race got to Arsenal at Palace

Arsenal reportedly sent scouts to watch Benfica striker Darwin Nunez in action against Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Mikel Arteta will be keen to bring in new attacking options in the summer transfer window, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah looking increasingly likely to follow ex-captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of the exit door when their contracts expire at the end of the season. It comes as Dani Ceballos has hit back at Piers Morgan over the TV personality’s criticism of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. And we’ve compared Tottenham and Arsenal’s remaining fixtures in the Premier League as the top four battle heats up.

Fixture lists compared

Spurs leapfrogged the Gunners on Sunday with their 5-1 demolition of Newcastle, before Arsenal fell to a 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night. Mikel Arteta’s side are only behind on goal difference and still have one game in hand on Spurs – so their remaining fixtures will be vital to deciding which club finishes in the top four this season.

Mirror Football has taken a closer look at the games each side still have to play.
