Rihanna Spills On Pregnancy, ASAP Rocky, And “Fun” New Album As She STUNS on Epic Vogue Cover.

Rihanna has been made cover star for the latest issue of Vogue Magazine‘s May 2022 issue.

Rocking red afront of the glowing gold feature spread, RiRi proudly flaunts her pronounced baby bump.

The mogul announced she was expecting her first child with partner ASAP Rocky back in January and she’s been a firm fixture in the spotlight ever since thanks to her daily fashion looks.

In what unquestionably serves as one of her most show-stopping features yet, RiRi poses up for snaps lensed by the legendary Annie Leibovitz and opens up in earnest about her journey into motherhood, her relationship with rapper Rocky, and that long-awaited new album.

On Her Fierce Pregnancy Fashion:

“When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, There’s no way I’m going to go shopping in no maternity aisle. I’m sorry—it’s too much fun to get dressed up. I’m not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing.

I know [my stylist] loses sleep over it because my measurements can literally change from hour to hour. In fact, I’m sure he’s going to ask for a raise after this!”

On The Impact of Her Pregnancy Looks:

“I’m hoping that we were able to redefine what’s considered ‘decent’ for pregnant women. My body is doing incredible things right now, and I’m not going to be ashamed of that. This time should feel celebratory. Because why should you be hiding your pregnancy?”

On ASAP Rocky:

“People don’t get out of the friend zone very easily with me. And I certainly took a while to get over how much I know him and how much he knows me, because we also know how much trouble we can land each other in.”

[Reflecting on one of their first performances on stage]He grabbed my ass on stage. That was not part of the rehearsal! I was like, What are you doing!?  My manager was like, Oh, God, she must like this guy a little bit. She never lets this sh*t slide.”

On How Covid Brought Them Together & Their Relationship Dynamic:

“He became my family in that time.

I cooked our food on this little janky grill I bought from Walmart. I still have it, too. It works like nobody’s business. I love the simple things but also the grand adventures. There’s no pretentious my-brand-your-brand bullsh*t, it’s just us living. I just feel like I can do any part of life by his side.”

On Whether The Pregnancy Was Planned:

“Planning? I wouldn’t say planning. But certainly not planning against it. I don’t know when I ovulate or any of that type of sh*t. We just had fun. And then it was just there on the test. I didn’t waste any time. I called him inside and showed him. Then I was in the doctor’s office the next morning and our journey began.”

On How Pregnancy Has Been:

“I was bracing myself for something insane [like morning sickness and mood swings] because I knew I wouldn’t have my usual coping mechanism: I can’t just go and smoke a joint right now,” she says. “But I was pleasantly surprised that I’ve been able to manage.”

On How She’ll Balance Her Work & Family:

“Balance is one of my biggest challenges and always has been. And now there’s another human being coming into play, it changes what that means again. Still, I have businesses that aren’t going to run themselves. My mom handled the three of us with not even close to the amount of resources that I have, so I can absolutely do it. What it looks like? I’m not sure.”

On New Music:

“I’m looking at my next project completely differently from the way I had wanted to put it out before. I think this way suits me better, a lot better. It’s authentic, it’ll be fun for me, and it takes a lot of the pressure off.”
